About Us

Slow Living with Meta Living
At Meta Living, we believe in the beauty of slowing down.
To us, Slowing Living isn't about moving at a snail's pace - it's about choosing to be present. It's about creating space for stillness, small joys, and meaningful rituals in the midst of a busy world.
Our Ethos
Our work is guided by three core values:
Self- care, Mindfulness and Sustainability
We create products with intention - things we use and love in our own homes - in the hope they gently encourage you to pause, reconnect, and care for yourself and the finite whenua (environment) around you.
• Self-Care •
Now more than ever, we need to make time for ourselves - not as an indulgence, but as a way to restore, reflect and show up fully for our lives ad our communities.
Our handmade items are designed to bring ease and calm to your everyday. Sip our organic teas and take five to breathe. Wrap yourself in our cosy knits or soothe sore muscles with a warmed wheat bag. These are small, grounding rituals that help us feel steady.
Taking care of your mind and body is not a luxury - it's essential.
• Mindfulness •
To live slowly is to live with awareness.
At Meta Living, we're mindful at every stage of our making - thoughtful in how we create, how we source, and how our choices ripple out into the world. Our hope is that our products encourage you to slow down and notice the moments that often pass us by.
• Sustainability •
Caring for ourselves and caring for the earth go hand in hand.
We make decisions with the long view in mind - favouring natural fibres, repurposing offcuts, and keeping waste minimal. Hemp is our hero fibre, and wherever possible, we use deadstock and biodegradable materials.
We also work with silk, which we use in our hand-sewn silk eye pillows. Each one is dyed by hand using natural dyes we gather ourselves - from avocado skins, onion peels, eucalyptus leaves and more. These gentle, earthy tones reflect the beauty of the natural world and the slow, intentional process behind each piece.
We offer an After-Life Program, helping you extend the life of your favourite items or return them to us to be repaired or repurposed into future projects.
Our packaging is intentionally minimal and either compostable or recyclable.
