Our Journey

...an open letter from the founder

In 2021, Meta came to life.

At the time, I was deeply focused on plastic pollution. I wanted Meta to be a brand that tackled microplastics in our waterways and ghost nets in our oceans. As a passionate diver, it felt like the obvious place to start — protecting the environment that gives me so much peace and perspective.

But life unfolded, as it does. Through personal challenges, reflection, and quiet change, Meta began to take on a softer, more personal meaning.

Meta Living is no longer just a brand to me — it’s a reflection of my own journey. A journey of learning how to slow down, sit with uncertainty, and turn inward. For years, I struggled with self-doubt and the pressure to constantly “do more.” Eventually, I gave myself permission to pause. I stepped away from the noise, started noticing the small things again — birdsong, a warm cup of tea, the comfort of soft clothing, and the healing that comes from being close to nature.

Those moments changed me. And they shaped Meta, too.

A little while after we began, Facebook rebranded and adopted the name 'Meta' — a moment that nudged us to add 'Living' to our name. It felt right. Not only did it distinguish us, but it also spoke more clearly to what this space had become: a practice, a way of being, a slower, more intentional way of living.

Now, everything we make at Meta Living is rooted in that shift — crafted slowly, with intention, and always with care. These are products I use in my own home, in the quiet parts of my day. My hope is that they become gentle reminders for you, too — to slow down, care for yourself, and reconnect with the world around you.

The values at the heart of Meta are simple, but strong:
Mindfulness. Self-care. Sustainability.

And while my interests may continue to change — because life is fluid and growth is natural — these values will always anchor this space.

Meta will evolve as I do. Some things will shift. New ideas will emerge. But the purpose remains the same: to offer thoughtful tools and rituals that support a gentler, slower way of living. A way of being that makes room for reflection, presence, and connection — to ourselves, to each other, and to the earth.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you.
I’m so glad you’re here. I truly hope that Meta Living brings a little calm into your everyday, and reminds you that taking care of yourself is never a selfish act — it’s how we care for the world around us, too.

Let’s walk this path together — through the seasons, the stillness, and everything in between.

Aroha nui,
Claudia
